I saw Ae Dil Hai Mushkil aka #ADHM in Rs.50 DVD and I think it’s worth that much only. It’s definitely not for the masses. Not the philosophy, not the plot, nothing goes with the masses be it in India or abroad. If the movie is still being seen and is a so-called hit, it’s only because the viewer is not left with much choice. The festival time, the jubilation time, what do we have in India to go and do some indulgence? I am thinking about all those parents who went with their kids, what did the children watch the whole 3 hrs?
Coming back to the grown-ups, the masses, the kind of clothes and sets they used in the movie is sheer extravaganza, an elite class nonsense….but are we impressed?
Coming to the actors, Ranbir Kapoor doesn’t look convinced in the first half in whatever he does, playing puppy friend to Anushka. In the second half though, he is the only saving grace. He acts out the passion and relentless persuasion well. Anushka Sharma from beginning to end does not look worthy of the lofty love for which there’s so much hue and cry. Lastly, Aishwarya reminded me of Rekha…dunno why… decked-up and desperate and pathetic…to fit in:P
